WITHOUT RULES!
If you are wondering why I write in
many different styles it is because I write without rules.
Can I write without rules? Sure,
why not? I have written dozens of books my way.
What is “my way?” Okay, I shall tell you. 
For a
start, I don’t use a dictionary or thesaurus unlike most writers and authors. I
don’t even own one of these fancy books. Next, I don’t read any books or
magazines on writing or publishing. I bought a book on the art of writing a long time ago
but after reading a few pages, I chuck it aside. It was boring. I tried to read a book on
how to improve your English but after trying out some of the exercises, I gave up.
I have
come across books, reports, manuals, tapes and courses on how to be a writer and I
can’t believe the crazy rules they are preaching! I can’t stand all those rules!
Here’s how I write. I type what comes to mind
naturally. What I have typed is reasonably my final copy since I like to write straight
from the heart, ‘off the cuff’. 
I hate
writing draft copies and I don’t plan out my writing or books in advance as some
people do. I insert the headings and chapters whenever I feel like doing so instead of
doing them at the beginning.
Sometimes I write this way, sometimes that way. Any
thing that ‘feels’ right with me is often the right one for me. I write from the
heart and go where life sends me.
On average, I think I took about ten days to write and
type the final copy of an 80 page book. If I have to take months or years to write a book,
I shall go crazy.
I don’t follow any schedule. I write when I like at my own pace in my own style. There are no
fixed working hours or days. I treat all days the same way I treat all things - equally.
Every day is fun; I make it so. Work is fun when you are in love with life.
Writing a book is a fun activity just like writing
letters to your friends. My work is my greatest fun. Your work can also be fun when you
love what you do. Follow your dream and enjoy your life!
Here is another example of doing things without rules. Many
years ago, I was painting full time for a living. 
I painted many beautiful original paintings and
exported them overseas. I used only one twenty cents brush and four tubes of colors. I
didn’t even use a palette or other artist’s aids. If you draw from the heart, the result is always satisfying. I promise.
The work you love doing is your
greatest fun. Go for it!
